Beverly is a mango cultivar selected by the Zill family of Boynton Beach, Florida. Its exact parentage is unknown, though Haden and Brooks are possible contributors based on leaf shape, seasonality, and fruit characteristics. The cultivar is recognized as a late-season mango with high eating quality.
Fruit are medium-sized, round to oval, and yellow at maturity, sometimes developing a light pink blush in coastal areas. Individual fruit can vary considerably in shape on the same tree. Flesh is yellow, soft, fiber-free, and surrounds a monoembryonic seed. Flavor is rich and sweet, with subtle melon-like notes. Seeds may occasionally sprout within the fruit as it ripens.
Trees exhibit a moderately spreading growth habit with open canopy and low-to-medium vigor. Beverly is a reliable producer, with fruit typically ripening from July through September. The cultivar is moderately susceptible to rots and fairly prone to anthracnose, making it less suitable for highly humid locations.
