Chino is a large, round mango from Cienfuegos, Cuba, described in literature around the early 20th century.
The fruit are colorful, with yellow flesh that contains a polyembryonic seed. Flesh is mostly fiber-free, sweet, and rich, placing it in the classic mango flavor group. Shelf life is relatively short, and fruit can overripen quickly.
Trees are vigorous with a spreading growth habit and dense canopy. Initial fruiting may be limited, but mature trees can produce steady, substantial crops.
Chino is moderately susceptible to anthracnose and bacterial spot, which may limit its performance in very humid regions.
