Chokanon is a mango from Thailand, also known as “BARI-11” in Bangladesh, noted for its ability to flower and fruit outside the typical mango season, although summer crops are usually larger and more consistent.
The fruit are small, oblong, and yellow at maturity. Flesh has a small amount of fiber, is sweet with a honeyed Thai-type flavor, and contains a polyembryonic seed.
Trees are low-to-medium in vigor with a spreading growth habit. They are fairly productive and show strong resistance to anthracnose.
In Florida, Chokanon is an early-season mango, typically ripening from June through July.
