Florida Prince is a low-chill peach variety developed by the University of Florida specifically for production in warm southern climates. It requires approximately 150 chill hours to break dormancy and set fruit, one of the lowest chill hour requirements of any commercially available peach variety, which makes it well suited for growers in Florida, the Gulf Coast, and similar warm-winter regions where standard peach varieties fail to produce reliably. Florida Prince typically ripens in late April to early May in central Florida, making it one of the earliest-ripening peach varieties available. The fruit is medium to large with a red and yellow skin, yellow freestone flesh, and a pleasant sweet flavor. It is grafted commercially onto Guardian, Lovell, or Nemaguard rootstock, all of which are widely available to home growers. Each order includes 3 freshly harvested live cuttings individually wrapped in grafting tape to retain moisture and protect the cambium during shipping. Printed care and propagation instructions are included with every order.
