Florigon is a small-to-medium sized mango originating from Florida, developed by John Kaiser in Ft. Lauderdale as a Saigon × Haden hybrid. The fruit are ovate, yellow at maturity, with soft, fiberless flesh that carries a mild-sweet Indochinese hybrid flavor. The seed is large and polyembryonic, and the flesh-to-seed ratio is moderate. Trees are moderately vigorous, with an open, somewhat vertical canopy.
Florigon is highly disease-resistant, showing excellent tolerance to anthracnose, mango bacterial black spot, and rot fungi, making it well-suited for humid, marginal areas. Production is steady, and the fruit ripens early season, typically from May through June.
