Francis Hargrave is a medium-sized mango likely derived from a Keitt × Haden background, selected in Miami, FL. The tree has a lanky, moderately vigorous growth habit with large leaves reminiscent of Keitt, and produces an open, manageable canopy. The fruit are elliptically-oblong with a pointed tip, yellow at maturity, and have light yellow, fiberless flesh with a mild, sweet classic flavor similar to Glenn. The seed is monoembryonic.
Francis Hargrave shows good resistance to anthracnose and other common mango diseases, performing well even under high disease pressure. It is an earlier mid-season mango, ripening primarily from late June through July, and is well-suited for growers seeking a productive, classic-flavored mango with moderate vigor.
