Fruit Cocktail is a Jakarta-type mango selected from Gary Zill’s breeding program in Boynton Beach, FL (planting #28-18). The fruit is medium-sized, round to ovate, and turns yellow at maturity. The flesh is fiberless with an exceptionally rich, layered flavor that combines spice notes, turpenes, and medium sweetness, reminiscent of fruit juice blends from childhood. The seed is monoembryonic.
The tree has a low-to-moderate vigor growth habit with a vertical, dense canopy. It is a mid-season variety, producing reliably with good disease resistance to anthracnose and bacterial black spot. Production is modest but sufficient for most backyard growers.
