Harumanis is a highly prized mango from Malaysia, particularly grown in Perlis and Kedah. The fruit is medium to large, elongated, and typically green even at full maturity, sometimes with a light yellow tint when fully ripe. The flesh is soft, fiberless, and exceptionally sweet with rich, floral, and honeyed notes—classic of the Indian/Alphonso-style flavor profile. The seed is monoembryonic.
Trees are moderately vigorous with an open, spreading canopy. Harumanis is generally a mid-season mango, ripening from June to July in tropical climates. Its unique sweetness and fragrance have made it one of the most sought-after mangos in Malaysia and abroad.
