Juliette is a mango from Gary Zill’s breeding program in Boynton Beach, FL, developed as a Julie seedling (planting # HE-4).
The fruit are small, oval, and resemble Julie, but ripen to a light yellow-green with minimal pink blush. The flesh is very soft, fiberless, and offers a rich Indian-spice flavor, reminiscent of Carrie or Ugly Betty rather than Julie. The seed is monoembryonic.
Trees are more vigorous than Julie, growing upright with a dense canopy that often conceals mature fruit. Production is steady, and the mid-to-late season ripening—from July into August—makes it a good choice for those seeking a later-season mango with a Carrie-like flavor. The variety shows promising resistance to bacterial spot and rot, though it may be sensitive to anthracnose in humid climates.
