Karen Michelle is an Edward seedling from the breeding program of Gary Zill in Boynton Beach, FL (planting #1-15), named after the wife of Craig Campbell.
The fruit are large, ovoid, and turn yellow at maturity. The flesh is medium-firm, fiberless, and has a rich, sweet classic flavor similar to Edward, with a slightly higher perceived sweetness.
The trees exhibit moderate vigor with dense canopies. Fruit production has historically been light to moderate. The mango is an early-to-mid season variety in Florida.
