Lady’s Choice is a seedling of East Indian from the breeding program of Gary Zill in Boynton Beach, FL (planting # L-24).
The fruit closely resembles East Indian in flavor and color but is smaller and more oval, typically weighing under a pound. It has less fiber than its parent, making it suitable for juicing as well as fresh consumption. The flesh is aromatic, rich in spice and terpenes, representing the Indian/West Indian flavor group.
The trees are early-season producers in Florida, with fruit maturing from May into June.
