Madame Blanc is a traditional Haitian mango variety that has been grown and valued in Haiti for generations. Its exact origin is unknown, but it is widely regarded as a heritage Caribbean cultivar.
The fruit are medium-sized and oval to oblong, ripening from light green to a dull yellow. Flesh color is pale yellow. Flavor falls into the classic mango category, mildly sweet and aromatic rather than intense or complex. Texture can vary by strain, but many selections contain noticeable fiber, which may be a drawback for those preferring modern, fiberless mangos.
Trees are vigorous growers and are known for reliable production, making the variety well suited to traditional orchards and home plantings in tropical climates. Madame Blanc is valued more for consistency and cultural significance than for premium dessert quality by modern standards.
