Mammou is an exotic mango variety with Southeast Asian heritage that was introduced to the United States and is maintained in the USDA/ARS National Germplasm Repository in Miami (accession MIA 36670) after being brought by Richard Campbell through Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden.

The fruit tend to be medium to large and oval, with green skin that may show yellow tones as it ripens. Flesh is smooth, fiberless, and very sweet, often described as intensely sweet and creamy. These traits are characteristic of Southeast Asian–type mangos and are associated with a very thin seed, similar to those found in varieties like Nam Doc Mai and Maha Chanok.

Mammou is classified with a Thai‑type flavor profile, noted for high sweetness and low acidity, suitable for fresh eating. Trees are reportedly medium in size with average vigor, have good disease resistance, and produce mid‑season fruit under subtropical conditions such as south Florida’s.

Flavor – Thai

Country – Likely Southeast Asian origin

Season – Mid‑season in Florida
