Marko is a mango variety that entered the U.S. nursery trade through Truly Tropical (Florida) and is associated with selections made or distributed by that nursery. The precise origin and parentage have not been widely documented, but the cultivar has gained attention for its eating quality and garden performance.
The fruit are medium‑sized and oval, developing a yellow skin at maturity with occasional light blush. The flesh is yellow, fiberless, and delivers a sweet, classic mango flavor with pleasant aromatics. The seed is monoembryonic.
Trees grow with moderate vigor and form a spreading canopy, producing reliably under suitable tropical and subtropical conditions. Marko has shown reasonable tolerance to common mango diseases when managed appropriately.
In climates such as South Florida, Marko is typically a mid‑season mango, with harvests occurring from June through July.
