Mun Kun Si / Mun Khun See is a traditional Thai mango variety, renowned for its exceptional sweetness and crisp texture. Its name translates to “crunchy” in Thai, reflecting the firm, crunchy bite that makes it highly valued as a green-eating mango.
The fruit is medium-sized and oblong, with green skin when unripe that gradually transitions to yellow as it matures. Mun Khun See is versatile, prized both when consumed green—sliced for salads or fresh eating—and when fully ripe, offering tender, fiberless flesh with sweet, floral, and honeyed notes. The seed is polyembryonic, allowing propagation of true-to-type plants.
Trees are compact to moderately vigorous with manageable canopy, making them suitable for backyard or small-scale cultivation. The variety is considered a mid-season mango in subtropical climates such as South Florida, ripening from late June through July.
