Neelum (sometimes spelled Neelam) is a mango from South India, widely grown on a commercial scale. The fruit is small, oval-ovate, with fiberless, pale yellow flesh and a distinct Indian flavor. Neelum is a late-season variety, typically ripening from August through September, and occasionally into October. This variety was introduced to Florida in 1978 by Frank Smathers Jr., expanding its cultivation beyond South India.
