Shwehintha is a mango from Myanmar, with the name sometimes spelled in several different ways. In recent years it has entered the Florida nursery trade under the alternate name ‘Raw Honey’. The fruit are long and oblong in shape, ripening to a clear yellow color.
The flesh is yellow, completely fiberless, and surrounds a long, thin polyembryonic seed. Eating quality is quite good, falling between the Indochinese and Thai flavor profiles. It is often compared to Maha Chanok in overall quality, offering clean sweetness with gentle floral character rather than heavy acidity or resin.
Trees have been reported to produce well in some settings, though there are indications that the variety may be somewhat prone to fungal issues in highly humid climates. Performance appears to vary depending on growing conditions.
