Scarlett Beauty is a Japanese plum variety known for its deep reddish-purple foliage, fragrant spring blooms, and medium to large fruit with a dark red skin and sweet, juicy flesh. It is a low-chill variety that performs well in warmer climates, typically requiring fewer than 300 chill hours, which makes it a practical option for growers in the South and along the Gulf Coast where traditional high-chill plum varieties are not well suited. Scarlett Beauty is self-fruitful but produces more reliably when planted near another low-chill Japanese plum variety for cross-pollination. Each order includes 3 freshly harvested live cuttings individually wrapped in grafting tape to retain moisture and protect the cambium during shipping. The cuttings are compatible with common plum and peach rootstocks and arrive ready to graft or propagate. Printed care and propagation instructions are included with every order. We recommend beginning the grafting or propagation process as soon as possible upon arrival for the best results.
