Sindhri, sometimes spelled Sindri, Shindri, or similar variants is a well-known mango from Pakistan, where it is highly regarded and widely grown. It is also cultivated to a lesser extent in northern India. Sindhri is considered one of the flagship classic mango varieties of the region.
The fruit is oblong in shape and ripens to a solid yellow color. The flesh is light yellow, completely fiberless, and notably sweet, delivering a clean, high-quality classic mango flavor. Among traditionally flavored mangos, Sindhri is often recognized for its excellent eating quality. The seed is monoembryonic.
Sindhri trees tend to grow slowly, forming a dense, spreading canopy rather than a tall, upright structure. Fruiting can be delayed in humid subtropical climates, with light or inconsistent production in warmer, wetter regions. The variety is believed to perform better in climates with cooler winters and drier bloom periods, such as southern California, where flowering may be more reliable.
