Tyler Premier is a mango from Kenya, sometimes referred to simply as Tyler (not to be confused with the Florida mango of the same name from Merritt Island). It is easily recognized by its distinctly round shape, resembling cultivars such as Cushman or Rumani.
The fruit has yellow, fiberless flesh with a classic mango flavor. Eating quality is good, though the fruit tends to ripen quickly and can become overripe if not harvested or handled carefully.
Trees have shown reliable, moderate production and generally good health, with few serious disease concerns noted. However, the fruit can be prone to skin splitting, particularly following periods of heavy rainfall.
Tyler Premier is considered a mid-season mango, with fruit typically maturing in July.
