This mango is a seedling of ‘Zill Indochinese’ (Zinc) from the breeding program of Gary Zill in Boynton Beach, Florida.
The original tree is known for being extremely productive, sometimes to the point that fruit quality can be diluted in heavy crop years. The flavor falls in the mild Indochinese category and may lose intensity when overproduction reduces sugar concentration.
The fruit has yellow, completely fiberless flesh and contains a monoembryonic seed. In both texture and flavor profile, it is often compared to Duncan, offering a clean, soft sweetness without resin or acidity.
This selection has demonstrated strong disease resistance and has shown reliable fruiting once established, making it a durable option among Indochinese-type mangos, particularly where disease pressure is a concern.
