Zill 40-17 is a selection from Gary Zill’s breeding program in Boynton Beach, Florida, and belongs to the group of newer Zill hybrids that emphasize intense dessert-quality flavor.
The fruit are oval-shaped and mature to a yellow skin color. The flesh is yellow, completely fiberless, and delivers an exceptionally rich flavor strongly reminiscent of ‘Gary’, highlighted by bright citrus notes.
