M-10 is a selection from Gary Zill’s breeding program in Boynton Beach, Florida, and represents one of the classic-leaning subacid mangos to come out of that effort.
The fruit are medium-sized, oval to ovate in shape, and notable for their excellent eating quality. The flesh is yellow, firm, and completely fiberless, with a flavor that fits squarely in the classic-acidic group. It is often compared to cultivars such as Edgar and Fruit Punch, offering a clean, bright sweetness balanced by a pleasant acidic edge.
Trees show moderate vigor with a more vertical growth habit and an open canopy, making them relatively easy to manage structurally. Production has been light so far, and some susceptibility to mango bacterial black spot has been observed, suggesting it may benefit from careful site selection and disease management.
M-10 stands out primarily for fruit quality rather than yield, making it a cultivar of interest to collectors and growers who prioritize flavor over heavy production.
